International Lectures on Indonesian Studies

We are pleased to invite you to attend the “International Lectures on Indonesian Studies” on Thursday, 26 November 2015, in Auditorium Building IV, Faculty of Humanity, University of Indonesia, Depok. The lectures will be started at 08.30 WIB and ended at 16.30 WIB.

The lectures will be jointly organised by Pusat Penelitian Kemasyarakatan dan Budaya (PPKB) and Lembaga Kajian Indonesia (LKI), Faculty of Humanity, University of Indonesia.

These lectures will address specific issues about Cultural Identity and Transformation in Indonesia. After the reformation era, Indonesia is faced with the global challenges which are characterized by the rapid development of information technology. Such development makes direct impact towards lifestyle and mindset in several industrialized countries. As a country that has diversity in cultures, Indonesia has the potential to develop local values as the representation of Indonesian identity in the global arena. In this forum, various dimensions of Indonesian Studies will be discussed, including the language study, cultural aspects of local and global, and others.

The invited speakers in these lectures are Prof. Dr. Njaju Jenny Malik, Dr. Hans De Velde, Dr. L. G. Saraswati, and Ryan Gordon, M.A.
