The Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Indonesia (FIB UI), welcomed a delegation from the Secretariat of Mayors for Peace, Hiroshima, on October 9, 2025, to explore potential collaboration opportunities in the field of peace studies.
FIB UI was represented by Dr. Junaidi, S.S., Manager of Cooperation and Ventures, and Dewi Anggraeni, Ph.D., Head of the Japanese Studies Program. Meanwhile, the delegation from Mayors for Peace, Hiroshima, was represented by Secretary General Mr. Takehiro Kagawa and Mr. Shintaro Takeuchi.
During the discussion, both parties exchanged ideas on various forms of collaboration focusing on promoting peace values, including organizing an atomic bomb poster exhibition, a public lecture on peace, and a peace-themed essay competition for university students.
These collaborative initiatives are planned to take place next year as the first step toward building academic and cultural partnerships between FIB UI and Mayors for Peace, Hiroshima, while strengthening their shared commitment to raising global awareness on the importance of world peace. (CA)
