The Universitas Indonesia team, consisting of outstanding students with the team name “PassMapres” managed to achieve a proud accomplishment at the Innovilleague 2025 event. Iqbal Banoza Apriansyah (Faculty of Engineering), Alif Raya Zulkarnaen (Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences), Maria Vianny (Faculty of Nursing), and Rio Fernando Alexander (Faculty of Administrative Sciences).
From a total of 1,894 students in 482 participating teams, the Universitas Indonesia Delegation succeeded in becoming the 1st Runner Up in Innovilleague 2025: Innovating Village Empowering Future, a national competition of Student League for Poverty Alleviation through Village Community Empowerment. The event was organized by the Coordinating Ministry for Community Empowerment of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenko PM) together with the Indonesian Rectors Forum (FRI), the Council of Rectors of Indonesian State Universities (MRPTNI), and Surabaya State University (UNESA).
The empowerment idea was titled “BANGSIAP: Bantul National Action Movement Ready for Innovation & Productivity Amplification.” BANGSIAP comes as a comprehensive response to the problems of structural poverty and high unemployment in Selopamioro Village, Bantul Regency, which reflects the village’s paradox of “rich potential but poor welfare.”
Through an Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology-based approach, integration of participatory approaches, human-centered design, and asset-based community development (ABCD), strengthened by the development of G.R.O.W.T.H system thinking, community empowerment, behavioral approaches (nudging), and governance innovations based on hexahelix collaboration, BANGSIAP offers integrated solutions in the form of access to job information, training according to local needs, and entrepreneurship opportunities. BANGSIAP’s core program Personalized AI-Based Employment, which is strengthened by the Ecosystem Governance and Acceleration of Digital Employment Services (E-TATALAKSANA POLICY) and community empowerment initiative Sinergi Aksi Penguatan Adaptif Desa (SAPA DESA), is designed to map citizens’ competencies, provide access to capital and small projects, facilitate career guidance, and open markets for local products and services.
BANGSIAP’s implementation involves a hexahelix collaboration between the government, academics, businesses, communities, NGOs, and the media, with the results of an SROI (Social Return on Investment) Analysis of ≈ 8.42, which shows financial feasibility as well as significant social impact in overcoming structural unemployment. This empowerment idea is in line with the global agenda through the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), namely SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 9 (Innovation and Infrastructure), SDG 10 (Reducing Inequality), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for Purpose), while supporting the vision of Asta Cita 2045 towards an inclusive, prosperous, and sustainable Indonesia.
