Towards a Sustainable Campus, FIB UI Declares Kampus Lestari Berbudaya Commitment at PSA-MABIM 2025

The Faculty of Humanities of the Universitas Indonesia (FIB UI) officially declared its commitment to realizing a sustainable and cultured campus through a series of activities of Induction Week (PSA MABIM) at the faculty level in 2025. This declaration is an important milestone for FIB UI in integrating the values of humanity, culture, and civilization with the principles of environmental sustainability.

In the declaration text read on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, in the Theater Daun area, the FIB UI academic community emphasized its belief that caring for culture is in harmony with caring for nature. Through cultural knowledge, all academicians are invited to maintain the balance of the ecosystem, foster awareness across generations, and leave a sustainable, harmonious, and dignified earth. This declaration also contains a pledge to place environmental sustainability as an ethical basis in every activity of the tridharma of higher education.

As a symbol of this commitment, trees were planted in the FIB UI campus. This activity is also part of the support for the UI GreenMetric program, which assesses campus sustainability based on energy management, green space, waste reduction, and wise resource management. Last year, FIB UI was ranked 2nd as the most sustainable faculty.

The declaration was attended by Dean of FIB UI, Dr. Bondan Kanumoyoso, S.S., M.Hum.; Vice Dean for Academic, Research, and Student Affairs, Dr. Untung Yuwono, S.S.; Manager of Student Affairs and Alumni Relations, Mr. James Farlow Mendrofa, S.Hum., M.Hum.; Manager of Cooperation and Ventures, Dr. Junaidi, S.S., M.A.; General Manager, Dr. Hendra Kaprisma, M.Hum.; Assistant General Manager, Mr. Yatin Nuryanto; Head of HSE Unit, Mr. Asep Herdiansyah; Head of Public Relations and Protocol, Chysanti Arumsari, M.A.; and new students of FIB UI.

With this declaration, FIB UI emphasized its determination to become a pioneer of harmony between humans, culture, and nature. PSA MABIM 2025 also became the initial momentum for new students to contribute to realizing a sustainable and cultured campus. (RMRW)
