Inauguration of the Dean and Vice Deans of FIB UI for the 2025–2029 Period

The Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Indonesia (FIB UI), welcomes a new chapter of leadership with the inauguration of the Dean and Vice Deans of FIB UI for the 2025–2029 term. The inauguration was part of the confirmation ceremony for eight faculty deans along with their respective vice deans within Universitas Indonesia, led directly by the UI Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU., on Monday, December 8, 2025, at Balai Sidang Universitas Indonesia.

During the ceremony, Dr. Untung Yuwono, S.S., was officially confirmed as the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Indonesia. He will be accompanied by two Vice Deans: Rouli Esther, S.S., M.Si., M.A., Ph.D., as the Vice Dean for Academic, Research, and Student Affairs, and Lily Tjahjandari, S.S., M.Hum., Ph.D., as the Vice Dean for Resources, Ventures, and General Administration.

This inauguration also marks the end of the leadership term of the FIB UI Dean for the 2021–2025 period, Dr. Bondan Kanumoyoso, S.S., M.Hum., who was accompanied during his tenure by Dr. Untung Yuwono, S.S., as Vice Dean for Academic, Research, and Student Affairs, and Dr. Taufik Asmiyanto, S.S., M.Si., as Vice Dean for Resources, Ventures, and General Administration. The previous leadership established important foundations for strengthening governance, academic development, and increasing FIB UI’s strategic role at the national level.

This inauguration signifies FIB UI’s commitment to continuously reinforce its role as a superior, inclusive, and relevant center for the development of humanities and cultural studies in response to contemporary challenges. Under the new leadership, FIB UI is expected to contribute further to strengthening Universitas Indonesia’s academic reputation, both nationally and internationally, through quality education, innovative research, and community service.

In his address, the UI Rector, Prof. Heri Hermansyah, affirmed that faculty leadership for the next five years must be based on integrity, transparency, and accountability. He emphasized the importance of cross-disciplinary collaboration and strategic partnerships with various external stakeholders to address national challenges and global dynamics.

Furthermore, Prof. Heri highlighted that the 2025–2029 period is a crucial time for Universitas Indonesia in facing the acceleration of technological change and digitalization. Faculties, including FIB UI, are expected to actively promote internationally reputable research and publications and produce graduates who are adaptive, critical, and prepared for the evolving world of work.

In line with this directive, FIB UI views this new leadership as a strategic momentum to strengthen faculty governance, enhance the quality of the Tri Dharma (Three Pillars of Higher Education), and expand academic and cultural collaboration networks. With a spirit of togetherness and commitment to scholarly values, FIB UI is optimistic about continuing to make a tangible contribution to Universitas Indonesia and the wider community over the next five years.
