Tomsk State University and FIB UI Establish Collaboration on Russian Language Teacher Training

Tomsk State University (TSU), Russia, and Universitas Indonesia (UI) have officially established a strategic collaboration to implement a training program for lecturers teaching the Russian language at the Faculty of Humanities (FIB UI). This initiative marks an important step in strengthening foreign language teaching capacity and improving the quality of Russian language education in Indonesia.

This collaboration aims to establish a comprehensive framework for conducting training programs that cover various aspects of lecturer competency development. Through this meeting, both institutions agreed to organize dedicated training sessions for Russian language lecturers, exchange knowledge and expertise related to innovation in teaching and learning processes, collaboratively develop training materials and content, and provide training certificates and performance assessments when necessary.

The partnership is expected to serve as a strong foundation for supporting curriculum development, teaching methods, and more modern and effective pedagogical approaches. In addition, this collaboration opens broader opportunities for academic networking between educators and language experts from both universities

From TSU, the collaboration is led by Prof. Artyom Yu. Rykun, Vice Rector for International Affairs, supported by Evgeniya P. Kypchakova, Assistant to the Vice Rector for International Affairs. Meanwhile, FIB UI, represented by the Manager for Cooperation and Ventures, Dr. Junaidi, The head of Russian Studies Program, Dr. Thera Widyastuti, and the head of Academic Quality Assurance Unit, Dr. Ahmad Fahrurodji, welcomed this partnership as an effort to enrich the knowledge and capabilities of lecturers in delivering Russian language learning that is more dynamic and globally competitive.

Through this collaboration, both institutions hope to create a stronger, more innovative Russian language learning ecosystem that is relevant to the needs of contemporary higher education. The partnership also reaffirms the commitment of TSU and UI to promoting international academic exchange and improving the quality of human resources in the field of language education. (CA)
