The Faculty of Humanities (FIB) at Universitas Indonesia once again welcomed a special visit on November 17, 2025. FIB UI received a group of enthusiastic students from SMA Al Izzah Batu, East Java, who were eager to learn more about the world of humanities and the study programs offered.
The visit, held at Auditorium X – Benny H. Hoed, FIB UI, began with a warm welcome from the Head of Public Relations and Protocol of FIB UI, Chysanti Arumsari, M.A. During the introductory session, various programs at FIB UI were presented. Ms. Chysanti provided a comprehensive explanation of the curriculum, academic support facilities, and career prospects for FIB graduates in the global era.
An interactive atmosphere was evident throughout the session. The students of SMA Al Izzah showed great enthusiasm. They listened attentively to detailed explanations about programs such as Literature, Linguistics, History, and Library and Information Science. The question-and-answer segment became the liveliest moment of the event, where students actively asked about admission pathways, campus life, and tips for succeeding in their studies at FIB UI. The thoughtful and in-depth questions demonstrated the serious interest of these students from Malang in the field of humanities. The poem “Hujan Bulan Juni” by Sapardi Djoko Damono, who once served as the Dean of FIB UI from 1995 to 1999, was also recited at the school’s request, adding warmth and liveliness to the atmosphere.
At the end of the event, the best questioners received a gift from the school. FIB UI hopes that this visit will provide meaningful insights and inspire students to consider FIB UI as their first choice for higher education. The Faculty of Humanities looks forward to welcoming bright, creative, and culturally aware young generations from all over Indonesia, including from SMA Al Izzah Batu, to become part of the FIB UI family and work together in building the nation’s civilization.
The visit concluded with a photo session and the exchange of souvenirs between FIB UI and SMA Al Izzah Batu. (Trans-CA)
