The Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Indonesia (FIB UI), participated in the Education Fair at SMA Kolese De Britto Yogyakarta 2025, held on Thursday and Friday, October 30–31, 2025. The annual event, organized by SMA Kolese De Britto Yogyakarta, brought together more than 40 higher education institutions from both Indonesia and abroad.
The Education Fair featured two main activities: informative presentation sessions and an education exhibition. On this occasion, FIB UI, in collaboration with the Directorate of Public Relations, Media, Government, and International Affairs of UI, delivered presentations to students in the school auditorium and welcomed visitors at the Universitas Indonesia booth. The outreach included information on admission pathways, undergraduate and postgraduate programs, as well as the fast-track program offered by UI.
Throughout the two-day event, the Universitas Indonesia booth attracted enthusiastic attention from students, particularly those from grades 10–12 of SMA Kolese De Britto, as well as students from other high schools across Yogyakarta. More than 150 visitors received information at the UI booth. Visitors were eager to learn more about admission routes, study program options, campus life, university facilities, student activities, tuition fees, and career prospects after graduation.
During the presentation session, Ms. Chysanti Arumsari, M.A., Head of Public Relations and Protocol at FIB UI, provided in-depth explanations about various study programs offered by the faculty. She emphasized the importance of understanding the academic scope of each program beyond its title. Prospective students are encouraged to explore further than the names of the programs they are familiar with. For instance, the English Literature Studies Program not only focuses on literary works from English-speaking countries but also encompasses the study of language, culture, society, and applied skills. Irdina Alin, a student from the Archaeology Study Program and one of UI’s student ambassadors, also assisted in promoting various programs offered by UI.
Overall, the event ran smoothly and received positive feedback from participants. Parents expressed interest in having more focused sessions introducing study programs at the Faculty of Humanities, which are not yet widely known. Through its participation in this event, FIB UI hopes to raise greater awareness among prospective students about the vast academic opportunities offered at FIB UI and to strengthen its positive public image at the national level.
