Students of the English Studies Program at the Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Indonesia (FIB UI), have won the International Innovation Essay Competition at Diponegoro University, Semarang, on October 24–26, 2025.
The team, consisting of Risa Marini Ronny Wazier, Charissa Alexandra Hutabarat, and Fauzi Fadhlurrohman, presented an AI-based educational game innovation called Climify. The application is designed to enhance climate awareness and literacy among the younger generation through interactive gameplay. Utilizing an AI-driven platform, Climify aims to help users understand climate change issues in an engaging, educational, and accessible way.
Finalist teams from various countries began the competition with a written essay on technology and sustainability, then delivered their presentations in English before an international panel of judges. The FIB UI team stood out by presenting creative ideas, demonstrating strong communication skills, and showing a deep understanding of global environmental issues, despite the rigorous selection process.
This achievement is expected to inspire other FIB UI students to continue excelling across diverse fields, including those beyond literature and the arts. The Climify team hopes that the spirit of innovation and collaboration will continue to flourish within FIB UI.
With this victory, the FIB UI team reaffirmed the vital role of the humanities in bridging technology and social awareness, especially in addressing today’s global challenges.
