Risa Marini Ronny, student in the English Studies Program, class of 2023, at the Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Indonesia (FIB UI), has been actively participating in international Model United Nations (MUN) events since 2023. Starting as a delegate, she has now been entrusted to chair various prestigious councils such as UNHCR, UNFPA, UNW, WHO, UNESCO, and UNDP.
Throughout her academic and organizational journey, Risa has participated in MUN in various countries, including Japan, Vietnam, Indonesia, South Korea, and the Netherlands. Each forum has been an opportunity for her to hone her skills in diplomacy, public speaking, negotiation, and building international networks.
This dedication continued with an idea from Risa and her friends, Nurrusyid Dwikindestya and Valerine Aubrey, who initiated FIBMUN in the Faculty of Humanities and successfully attracted 30 participants from various study programs to join the program. This program was designed as a training and mentoring forum for FIB students to enter the world of MUN, both nationally and internationally. The FIBMUN activities were divided into two main stages: the first day was filled with an introduction to the MUN concept and tips and tricks sessions, while the second and third days were filled with live MUN session simulations. FIBMUN not only equipped participants with session procedures and diplomatic debate skills, but also instilled the values of cooperation, leadership, and global issue awareness.
