SMA Islam Sinar Cendekia Visits FIB UI to Explore Campus Life

A total of 39 students from SMA Islam Sinar Cendekia had the opportunity to gain firsthand insight into academic life at the Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Indonesia (FIB UI), through an educational visit on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. Held at the Benny H. Hoed Auditorium, Building X, the event was designed to broaden students’ understanding of university studies while introducing them to the academic environment and traditions of FIB UI.

The group was warmly welcomed by Ms. Chysanti Arumsari, M.A., Head of Public Relations and Protocol at FIB UI, who delivered her remarks on behalf of the faculty leadership. She emphasized that such visits not only provide useful information but also offer students the chance to directly experience the campus atmosphere, which can inspire and encourage future academic achievement. The group was accompanied by Mr. Muhammad Firdaus Sriyadi, S.KM., representing the school’s faculty members.

During the session, the Public Relations and Protocol team—Ms. Sunarti, Mr. Tjahyadi, Mr. Danang, Risa, and Talita took part in a question-and-answer session. The students showed great enthusiasm, raising questions ranging from program admission competitiveness and student activities to career prospects, the societal contributions of the humanities, and postgraduate study options.

One highlight of the visit was the introduction of the FIB UI Pre-University Program, open until September 30, 2025. The program is available for both high school students and recent graduates (gap year) and carries the equivalent of 3 credits (SKS), which may later be transferred should participants continue their studies at FIB UI. For this period, the course offered is Studies in English Literary Texts.

This visit provided the students not only with valuable information about the academic world and the future of humanities studies but also with the chance to experience FIB UI’s green, culturally rich campus environment. It is hoped that the activity will inspire and motivate the younger generation to prepare themselves for higher education, particularly in the field of humanities. (CA)
