In Collaboration with KOICA, FIB UI Holds The C-Hub MOOCs Training for Instructors-Batch 3

The Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Indonesia (FIB UI), in collaboration with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), organized The C-Hub MOOCs Training for Instructors – Batch 3 on August 25-28, 2025, at FIB UI, Depok. This activity was held following the success of the 2nd Capacity Building Workshop on Digital Education and Humanities, a week earlier, both within the framework of the international cooperation program Capacity Building of the ICT-Based Integrated Knowledge System Development (C-Hub Connectivity) at Universitas Indonesia, or better known as the C-Hub Program.

A total of 23 permanent lecturers of Universitas Indonesia who won the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) Batch 3 grant and their respective teams participated in this training. In his opening remarks, Dr. Untung Yuwono, S.S., Vice Dean for Academic, Research, and Student Affairs of FIB UI, congratulated and appreciated the 23 permanent lecturers and their teams from 10 faculties (Faculty of Economics and Business, Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Faculty of Computer Science, Faculty of Humanities, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Public Health, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Faculty of Psychology, and Faculty of Engineering) and Vocational Programs within UI whose MOOC proposals were successfully passed to be developed in 2025 through rigorous selection.

“This third batch has its own special features with 4 partnership MOOCs and 2 pre-university MOOCs among the 23 selected MOOCs. These partnerships and pre-university MOOCs will continue to be strengthened in the future, in line with the C-Hub Program’s goal to increase the collaboration of the four elements of UGIC-university, government, industry, and community-in meeting the needs of the community both nationally and internationally through digital-based learning,” said Dr. Untung.

Meanwhile, Dr. Neni Susilawati, S.Sos., M.A., CertDA, CSRS, as KOICA-UI MOOCs Manager as well as the head of the training committee, added that, like the previous two batches, the Batch 3 selection was carried out strictly with an assessment by a joint review team, consisting of MOOC experts from South Korea and Indonesia.

“With an additional 23 MOOCs developed this year, a total of 54 MOOCs will be completed by the end of 2025, from an overall target of 66 MOOCs by 2026. This project not only enriches learning innovation at UI, but also presents wider opportunities through the implementation of MOOCs with the Open edX platform, which is able to reach a larger number of users than other digital platforms,” explained Dr. Neni. The C-Hub program, initiated by FIB UI and supported by KOICA since 2022, is a flagship project of Universitas Indonesia to develop digital learning while strengthening cross-sector collaboration. In the future, the involvement of faculties, schools, and Vocational Programs within UI is expected to increase, especially when the C-Hub Building officially operates in 2026 as a UGIC collaboration center in developing digital-based learning products.

In this four-day training, participants received material on how to produce MOOCs that are significant and interesting. The material provided included KOICA-UI MOOC development standards, MOOC development with the Open edX platform, public speaking for MOOC, video production standards for MOOC, and MOOC copyright from facilitators who are experienced in creating, assessing, and editing MOOCs, including Dr. Neni Susilawati, S.Sos., M.A., CertDA, CSRS; Dr. Ima Mayasari, S.H., M.H.; Desy Rachmawati, S.Tr.; Irma Septuriany, S.I.Kom.; Peny Meliaty Hutabarat, S.Sos., M.S.M.; Gracello Yoshua (from Lemkasi MOOC production house); Arianto (from Inkor MOOC production house). In addition, the participants received special input from two South Korean MOOC experts, namely Prof. YoungRan Joung and Prof. MinJeong Kim, for the MOOC prototype that had been designed by the participants.
