PSA Mabim FIB UI 2025: Welcoming New Students with a Progressive, Collective, and Contributive Spirit

Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Indonesia (FIB UI) has successfully organized the Academic System and Orientation Period (PSA Mabim) FIB UI 2025 with the motto “blooming together, weaving the colors of culture.” All activities this year were conducted offline, offering interactive experiences, fostering closeness, and leaving a lasting impression on new students.

PSA Mabim FIB UI 2025 served as an initial bridge for new students to familiarize themselves with both the academic and non-academic environments at FIB UI. The program successfully fostered a sense of belonging, a spirit of camaraderie, and a love for the faculty, thereby encouraging active student participation in campus life. All activities were grounded in three core values: progressive, collective, and contributive. The progressive value encourages students to develop intellectually and emotionally, like a bud that grows until it blooms. The collective value teaches the importance of solidarity and togetherness despite different backgrounds. Meanwhile, the contributive value encourages students to make a positive impact, nurture, and build a shared space at FIB UI.

The first day of PSA Mabim began with an introduction to the faculty leadership, study programs, curriculum, lecture system, and available academic facilities. New students also gained an understanding of academic mechanisms and various support services that they can access during their studies.

On the second day, activities focused more on guidance and instilling values. On this day, new students participated in an Alumni Talkshow featuring Rayi Saputra, a member of the music group/band RAN and a 2005 graduate of the Philosophy Department at UI, and Dhanu Reza, a podcaster for the Podcast Malam Kliwon and a 2012 graduate of the History Department, moderated by Monica Maharani, the Outstanding Student of FIB UI, 2025. Additionally, there was a Gender Equality Talkshow featuring speakers Dhiyanis Zuhdi and Wawan Suwandi, moderated by Marcelina Elenora Terainconita Tukan. This talk show not only provided inspiration but also opened up important discussion spaces to foster awareness, inclusive attitudes, and a spirit of equality within the campus environment.

The final day marked the joyful conclusion of the series. New students were invited to participate in various interactive games and watch musical theater performances by each group. The PSA Mabim FIB UI 2025 series reached its climax through the Mabim Festival, a moment of celebration and the announcement of the graduation of the active Student Association (IKM). This festival symbolized the success of the new students’ adaptation and marked the beginning of their contributions to the faculty.

With the spirit of growth, unity, and contribution reflected throughout the activities, the PSA Mabim FIB UI 2025 has become a meaningful first step for new students as they embark on their academic journey at FIB UI. (RMRW)
