The Faculty of Humanities Universitas Indonesia (FIB UI) held an online Introduction to the Academic System (PSA) of the 2025 Postgraduate Program through Zoom on Thursday (14/8). This activity aims to provide an initial understanding for new students regarding the academic system, organization, and an overview of the study process at the faculty level. In this academic year, FIB UI accepts 1,136 new students, with 85 Master’s Program students, 52 Doctoral Program students, and 999 Undergraduate Program students.
The event began at 09.00 WIB, hosted by the Head of Public Relations and Protocol of FIB UI, Chysanti Arumsari. She expressed her welcome to the new Master’s and Doctoral program students at FIB UI.
On this occasion, the Vice Dean for Academic, Research, and Student Affairs, Dr. Untung Yuwono, S.S., gave a speech as well as introducing the ranks of faculty leaders, starting from the Chair and Secretary of the Board of Professors, Chair and Secretary of the Faculty Academic Senate, Vice Deans, Head of Departments, to the Head of the Postgraduate Study Programs.
Dr. Untung Yuwono also delivered a presentation on plagiarism and the importance of academic integrity in the world of research and scientific writing. This material emphasizes that academic honesty is an important foundation in pursuing postgraduate studies.
After that, FIB UI Education Manager, Mrs. Rouli Esther, Ph.D., gave a presentation on the academic system at FIB UI, including regulations, academic procedures, and services available to support the student learning process.
The faculty introduction session was closed with the division of breakout rooms according to the eight postgraduate study programs at FIB UI. In the room of each study program, new students follow the study program introduction session guided by the head of the study program. Activities at the study program level include introductions to teaching lecturers, curriculum exposure, as well as discussions and question-and-answer sessions.
With the end of this series of activities, new FIB UI Postgraduate students are expected to understand the academic system and be ready to start their study journey in the campus environment.
