GRADUATES PROFILE AND COMPETENCIES

  1. Profile of Korean Studies Graduates

Graduates of Korean Studies are able to communicate in decent Korean and analyze theoretical concepts about Korean language, literature, and culture to be able to apply it in various alternative solutions in science and society responsibly.

    ATTITUDES
    a) Respect the diverse cultures, viewpoints, religions, beliefs, and other opinions or original work;
    b) Collaborate and possess social sensibility and responsibility towards society and environment;
    c) Internalized academic values, norms, and ethics;
    d) To be able to maintain and expand work connections with advisor, colleagues, and peers whether in a same or different institution;
    e) To be able to self evaluate with team that works under their responsibility, and to manage independent learning;
    f) To be able to document, store, preserve, and rediscover data to guarantee the authenticity and to prevent plagiarism in their skills independently;
    d) Have a sense of responsibility towards the work in their area of expertise independently;
    e) Values truth, honesty, and justice greatly

    KNOWLEDGE
    a) To be able to analyze the phenomena of language, literature, and culture, both orally and in written in the perspective of Korean language, literature, and sociocultural.
    b) To be able to analyze and find solutions to Korean contemporary cultural issues from Indonesian and cross-culture perspective.
    c) To be able to critically examine creative work in global-local dynamics.

    AREA OF EXPERTISE SKILLS
    a) To be able to achieve Korean language proficiency with a minimum of TOPIK 4 (Intermediate III).
    b) To be able to apply good Korean language principles to produce a simple text.
    c) To be able to provide public demand in Korean translation, language learning, and communication.
    d) To be able to apply the knowledge of language, literature, culture, and history in Korean Studies area.
    e) To be able to respond in a critical manner  to a cultural phenomena as a result from Korea-Indonesia cross culture with the knowledge that has been learnt.

    GENERAL SKILLS
    a) To be able to apply logical, critical, systematic, and innovative way of thinking for science and technology development or implementation that focus and apply humanities values in accordance with their field of expertise;
    b) To be able to show an independent, brilliant, and measurable work performance;
    c) To be able to construct a scientific description as a result of the studies mentioned above in thesis or article structure, and upload it into the university webpage;
    d) To be able to maintain and expand work connections with advisor, colleagues, and peers whether inside or outside the institution;
    e) To be able to self evaluate with team that works under their responsibility, and to manage independent learning;
    f) To be able to document, store, preserve, and rediscover data to guarantee authenticity and to prevent plagiarism in their skills independently.
