Becoming a leading education, research, and community services institution in the area of German language learning, linguistics, literature, and culture at national, regional, and international levels.

MISSIONS

  1. To develop cultural education and research, mainly on German culture;
  2. To create a reliable and trusted human resources center in community service in the area of linguistics, literature, and German culture; and
  3. To collaborate in education, research, and community service in the area of linguistics, literature, and German culture.

GRADUATES PROFILE AND COMPETENCIES

  1. Profile of German Studies Graduates

German studies graduates are able to communicate in German, analyze theoretical concepts on linguistics, literature, and cultural studies, and apply those theories, both individually and in groups, to solve problems responsibly.


Main Competencies

a). To be able to communicate in German (based on proficiency standards of CEFR B2/ C1);
b). To be able to analyze German language phenomena with linguistics theories;
c). To be able to analyze German data and information, German linguistics, German literature, and German cultural studies in scientific papers.


Supporting Competencies

a). To be able to express scientific ideas orally and in written with correct and proper Indonesian
b). To be able to apply theories and methods of cultural research;
c). To be able to describe the patterns and dynamic of Indonesian culture;
d). To be able to elaborate the variety of philosophy and modern thoughts;
e). To be able to describe about the human and society of Indonesia in present time and their relation with other nations in global context;
f). To be able to analyze German literature works variation with literature theories;
g). To be able to analyze cultural phenomena in German from from time to time.


Other Competencies

a). To be able to utilize Information and Communication Technology;
b). To be able to think in a critical, creative, and innovative manner and to have intellectual curiosity to solve problems both individually and in groups;
c). To be able to use both spoken and written Indonesian and English in a correct and proper manner for academic and non-academic activities.
d). To be able to behave with integrity and to respect others;
e). To be able to identify a variety of entrepreneurial efforts that are characterized by ethical innovation and autonomy.
