In order to provide a comprehensive understanding of academic workflows and student services, the Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Indonesia (FIB UI) held a Socialization Session on Student Life Cycle Management (SLCM). Targeted at all undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students, the event took place virtually via Zoom on Friday (7/8) from 08.00 to 09.00 WIB. It was attended by the Vice Dean for Academic, Research, and Student Affairs of FIB UI, Rouli Esther, M.Si., M.A., Ph.D., and the Manager of Academic Affairs of FIB UI, Dr. Putu Pramania Adnyana, M.A.
The event commenced with opening remarks from the Vice Dean for Academic, Research, and Student Affairs of FIB UI, Rouli Esther, M.Si., M.A., Ph.D., who emphasized the importance for all students to understand this academic system update. Moving into the main session, the Manager of Academic Affairs of FIB UI, Dr. Putu Pramania Adnyana, M.A., presented material regarding the migration of academic services from SIAK-NG (academic.ui.ac.id) to the new Student Life Cycle Management (SLCM) system on the slcm.ui.ac.id portal. This transition to adjust students’ academic access needs will take effect on August 12, 2026.
During the occasion, technical procedures for filling out the Study Plan Form (IRS) were also presented. Students can complete their IRS from August 12–23, 2026, while registration for cross-study program or cross-faculty elective courses will open from August 20–23, 2026. Unlike in previous semesters, the Add IRS feature has been officially discontinued. However, the Drop IRS feature remains available and can be accessed from August 24–30, 2026, with no additional extension period after August 30, 2026. Regarding this matter, Dr. Rouli Esther emphasized that students wishing to drop a course must provide a strong justification so that it can be processed by the FIB UI academic team. Additionally, to help students monitor quota availability for open elective courses, the Academic Service Unit of FIB UI has launched a dedicated website accessible via s.id/UnitPelayananAkademikFIBUI. Classes are scheduled to start simultaneously on August 24, 2026, and to ensure comprehensive socialization, the event concluded with an interactive Q&A session.
Through the system updates introduced on the SLCM portal, FIB UI hopes that this new academic platform will further facilitate students in managing their academic needs. With a more integrated management system, all students are expected to undergo the upcoming semester’s academic activities more smoothly and optimally. (AL)
