The strong commitment and synergy between alumni and their alma mater were clearly demonstrated through the official donation of a facility asset, Lumbung Smarakatha, by the Alumni Association of the Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Indonesia (ILUNI UI – FIB) for the 2025–2028 period to FIB UI. The handover and inauguration ceremony took place in a warm and solemn atmosphere at FIB UI on August 7, 2026.
The leadership of the Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Indonesia (FIB UI) in attendance included the Dean of FIB UI, Dr. Untung Yuwono, S.S., who was accompanied by the Vice Dean for Resources, Ventures, and General Administration, Lily Tjahjandari, Ph.D. Additionally, James Farlow Mendrofa, S.Hum., M.Hum., Manager of Student Affairs and Alumni Relations; Dr. Mamlahatun Buduroh, M.Hum., Finance Manager; and Dr. Junaidi, S.S., M.A., Manager of Cooperation and Ventures, were also present. Meanwhile, the FIB UI Alumni Association (ILUNI UI – FIB) was represented by its Chairperson, Visna Vulovik, who attended alongside the Vice Chairperson, Ghifar.
The event opened with a warm welcome address from the Dean of FIB UI, Dr. Untung Yuwono, S.S. In his speech, the Dean expressed his deep gratitude and highest appreciation to ILUNI UI – FIB. He emphasized that FIB UI is profoundly thankful for the alumni’s care and support, likening FIB UI to a ‘child’ who continually maintains communication and fosters a strong relationship with its ‘parents’ represented by ILUNI UI – FIB. Following this, the Chair of ILUNI UI – FIB, Ms. Visna Vulovik, accompanied by Mr. Ghifar, reaffirmed the alumni’s commitment to providing full support to FIB UI in order to bolster campus operations and sustainability initiatives.
Proceeding to the main event, the ceremony continued with the official signing of the Handover Certificate by the Dean of FIB UI, Dr. Untung Yuwono, S.S., and the Chair of ILUNI UI – FIBI, Ms. Visna Vulovik. Following the signing, a group photo session was held to capture the momentous occasion.
After the photo session, the leadership gathered at the front of the facility for the ceremonial ribbon-cutting, performed jointly by the Dean, Vice Dean, Chair of ILUNI UI – FIB, and Mr. Ghifar. A key highlight followed when Mr. Ghifar symbolically unlocked the doors of Lumbung Smarakatha, paving the way for the Dean of FIB UI and all invited guests inside to tour and inspect the facility’s interior. The event, hosted by the Coordinator of the Public Relations and Protocol Unit of FIB UI, Chysanti Arumsari, concluded with a warm gathering and reception in a spirit of camaraderie. (SM)
