Faculty of Humanities Universitas Indonesia and TETO Collaborate in Hosting A Public Lecture on “The Historical Development of Taiwanese Identity and Its Related Issues”

The Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Indonesia in collaboration with The Taipei Economic and Trade Office (TETO) organized an online Public Lecture “The Historical Development of Taiwanese Identity and Its Related Issues” on 26 August 2021. The lecture was delivered by Prof. Hsueh Hua-yuan from Graduate Institute of Taiwan History, National Chengchi University, Taiwan (NCCU). The moderator was Nita Madona Sulanti, M.A., from the Faculty of Humanities Universitas Indonesia. This public lecture was attended by 80 participants from Universitas Indonesia, other universities in Indonesia, overseas Universities and various institutions.

Participants from universities in Indonesia, both public and private, were from Universitas Gadjah Mada, Maranatha Christian University, Bina Nusantara University, Universitas Negeri Semarang, Institut Teknologi dan Bisnis Indonesia, Pasundan University, Chandra Kumala School,Gandhi memorial Intercontinental School, North Sumatra University (USU), Kanaan Global School, and Universitas Darma Persada. Meanwhile, participants from overseas universities came from Asia University, Eastern University, and Nanjing University. There were also participants from various institutions, namely Ministry of Investment (BKPM), Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs (Kemenkopolhukam), Trinity Forma Law Firm, and TETO TEC.

This public lecture is the second in a series of public lectures held with TETO with speakers from
NCCU. The previous public lecture, “Political Liberalization in Taiwan and The Cold War” took place on
August 24, 2021 with Assistant Professor Maeda Naoki (Graduate Institute of Taiwan History) as the
speaker.
